World Week of Prayer

Pray for the Africa Region
Filimao Chambo, Regional Director

General Regional Requests

  • Pray for conferences that will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa—District Superintendents Leadership Development Conference (5-8 March 2015) and Africa Regional Conference (8-13 March 2015). Participating fields include Africa South Field, Africa Lusophone, Africa South East Field.
  • Pray for the Africa Regional Conference that will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from 15-20 August 2015. Participating fields include Africa East and Ethiopia.
  • Pray for the Africa Regional Director, Dr. Filimao Chambo, his family, and the Africa Regional Office staff.
  • Pray for all district leaders and pastors.
  • Pray for the recruitment of students for Nazarene Theological College (South Africa).
  • Pray for creative access areas, specifically for ministry funds and personnel.
  • Pray for Work & Witness teams on the Africa Region.
  • Pray for ways to create awareness of God’s mission in and through the Church of the Nazarene that will motivate and improve World Evangelism Fund giving.
  • Pray for mission education and for mission awareness throughout Africa.
  • Pray for those countries and people who are affected by the Ebola epidemic.

Field Requests:

Africa East Field and the Horn of Africa—Don Gardner, field strategy coordinator:

  • Ethiopia: As things are improving, we still need to see the healing and anointing hand of God on our leaders. We still do not have our property back.
  • Ethiopia and East Africa: Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit across the field. We want to see and want to be a part of a Holy Spirit revival
    Africa South East Field—Paul Mtambo, field strategy coordinator
  • Pray for the aftermath of the floods that ravaged the country of Malawi.
  • Pray for young people to experience the call of God and to prepare for ministry.

Africa Central Field—Stephane Tibi, field strategy coordinator:

  • Pray with us that in each district and each church on our field, people learn to listen to the voice of God and discover the joy of following His lead in every area of life.
  • Join us in prayer for a holiness revival to burn and spread throughout the Africa Central Field and beyond.

Africa South Field—Mashangu Maluleka, field strategy coordinator:

  • Pray for a movement of God’s Spirit across the Eastern Cape District.
  • Prayer for the South Field to turn missional in giving, in prayer, in sending of missionaries and Work & Witness teams outside our borders.

Africa West Field—Rev. Dany Gomis

  • We thank God for the reduction of the number of Ebola cases. We pray for the total eradication of the Ebola Virus and God’s wisdom for no stigmatization of those who have been declared Ebola free in Guinea Conakry, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
  • Pray for God’s intervention in the rise of the extremists in some countries of West Africa.
